QuCu82 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Silicon Bronze CuSi3 / ERCuSi-A (2.1461)
QuCu82 is the silicon bronze: EN ISO 24373 S Cu 6560 (CuSi3Mn1) · AWS A5.7 ERCuSi-A · material no. 2.1461. With 3 % silicon it is the stronger of quada's two silicon bronzes (80 HB, Rm 390 MPa).
Silicon makes the weld pool more fluid and deoxidising — which is why these wires are the easiest entry into copper welding. They join copper, low-alloy copper alloys, brass (CuZn) and silicon bronzes, and can also be used for build-ups on steel and cast iron. Where more ductility is needed, use QuCu84 (Si 1.8 %, A 45 %).
Recommended base materials
- Copper and low-alloy copper alloys
- Copper-zinc alloys (brass)
- Silicon bronzes
- Build-ups on unalloyed and low-alloy steels and cast iron
Typical applications
- Joint welding on copper and brass
- Build-up welding on steel and cast iron
- Repairs on silicon bronze components
- Art casting and restoration
Properties and advantages
- Si 3 % — fluid, deoxidising weld metal
- 80 HB, Re 150 MPa · Rm 390 MPa · A 40 %
- Stronger than QuCu84 (62 HB)
- Also usable on steel and cast iron
Bobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
