QuCu84 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Silicon Bronze CuSi2 / ERCuSi-A (2.1522) – Ductile, A 45 %

QuCu84 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Silicon Bronze CuSi2 / ERCuSi-A (2.1522) – Ductile, A 45 %

QuCu84 is the ductile silicon bronze: EN ISO 24373 S/G Cu 6511 (CuSi2Mn1) · AWS A5.7 ERCuSi-A · material no. 2.1522. With 1.8 % silicon it is softer than QuCu82 (62 HB) — in return it offers 45 % elongation, the highest figure in quada's entire copper range.

That makes it the choice when the seam has to yield: on thin sheet, on low-zinc brasses (CuZn5, CuZn10, CuZn15) and on build-ups that are later formed or heavily loaded. Also suitable for build-ups on unalloyed steel and cast iron.

Recommended base materials

  • Copper and low-alloy copper alloys
  • CuZn5, CuZn10, CuZn15 (brass)
  • Silicon bronzes
  • Build-up welding on unalloyed and low-alloy steel, cast iron

Typical applications

  • Joint welding on copper and brass
  • Build-up welds requiring high formability
  • Thin sheet and components with stress in the seam
  • Build-ups on steel and cast iron

Properties and advantages

  • A 45 % elongation — the most ductile copper filler in quada's range
  • 62 HB, Re 285 MPa · Rm 530 MPa
  • Softer and tougher than QuCu82 (Si 3 %)
  • Also usable on steel and cast iron

Bobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.

QuCu82 is the silicon bronze: EN ISO 24373 S Cu 6560 (CuSi3Mn1) · AWS A5.7 ERCuSi-A · material no. 2.1461. With 3 % silicon it is the stronger of quada's two silicon bronzes (80 HB, Rm 390 MPa).Silicon makes the weld pool more fluid and deoxidising — which is why these wires are the easiest entry into copper welding. QuFe17 Bobbin Laser Welding Wire Fine-Grain Steel S890Q / High-Strength (ER110S-G)

QuFe17 is a wire for joint welding on high-strength, quenched and tempered fine-grain structural steels with a minimum yield strength of 890 MPa: EN ISO 16834-A G/W 89 4 M21 Mn4Ni2CrMo · AWS A5.28 ER110S-G.It has no material number — its analysis is defined solely by the standards. The weld metal reaches Re 880 MPa and Rm 940 MPa at 16 % elongation: it matches the strength of the base material without turning brittle. Where the base material is one class lower (S690QL, 690 MPa), QuFe10NiMo is the wire to use.Recommended base materialsS890Q and comparable high-strength fine-grain steelsXABO 90Weldox 900 EOS 1002, ASTM A709 Gr. 100 Type B, E, F, H, QN-A-TRA 55-70Typical applicationsJoint welds on high-strength quenched and tempered fine-grain steelsRepairs on components from 890 MPa minimum yield strengthCrane and vehicle construction, lifting gear, pressure vesselsRepairs on Weldox and XABO structuresProperties and advantagesRe 880 MPa · Rm 940 MPa · A 16 % — matches the strength of the base materialJoint welding rather than build-up — designed for the seam, not for a wear layerPost-weld treatment as typical for the base materialAlloyed with Ni 2.2 % and Mo 0.5 % for toughness at high strengthBobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
