QuP20 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Mould Steel P20 / 1.2311 – 38–46 HRC, Etchable and Grainable
QuP20 is the wire for mould steel AISI P20 (~1.2311) — and its distinguishing feature is stated literally in the datasheet header: post-processing by etching and texturing.
The deposit is EDM-machinable, texturable, polishable, chrome-platable, etchable, nitridable, temperable and hardenable. If you repair a cavity that is subsequently photo-etched or grained, that is exactly what you need — many harder build-up wires are ruled out at this point. At 38–46 HRC it is well above QuFe10Cr (27–38 HRC) and usable in long-term service up to 570 °C.
Recommended base materials
- 1.2311 (AISI P20), 1.2312, 1.2738
- 1.2162, 1.2764, 1.2767
- 42CrMo4 / AISI 4140, 25CrMo4, AISI 4130
- 13CrMo 4 4, GS-17 CrMo5 5
Typical applications
