QuFe10 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Plastic Mould Steel 1.2311 / 1.2312 / 1.2738

QuFe10 is the standard filler metal for modifying and repairing mould cavities in the quenched and tempered plastic mould steels 1.2311, 1.2312, 1.2162, 1.2738, 1.2764 and 1.2767. Standard: DIN EN ISO 21952-A G/W MoSi · AWS A5.28 ER70S-A1 (material no. 1.5424). Achievable hardness: 28–37 HRC.

Recommended base materials

  • 1.2311, 1.2312 — quenched and tempered plastic mould steels
  • 1.2738 — Ni-alloyed mould steel for large tools
  • 1.2162, 1.2764, 1.2767 — further mould steels
  • 15Mo3, 16Mo3, 19Mn6, 17Mn14, GS-22Mo4 — creep-resistant boiler and fine-grain steels
  • WStE255 to WStE460, HI, HII

Typical applications

  • Mould cavity modifications — contour corrections in injection moulds
  • Repair of wear and chipping on parting lines
  • Filling of milling and EDM errors
  • Joint and build-up welding on quenched and tempered mould steels
  • Creep-resistant boiler and fine-grain structural steels

Properties and advantages

  • Achievable hardness 28–37 HRC — matching the base hardness of tempered mould steels
  • Weld metal: Re > 460 MPa · Rm > 530 MPa · A > 20 %
  • Post-processing: EDM-machinable, texturable, polishable, chrome-platable, etchable, nitridable, hardenable
  • The repair can be processed just like the base material — including graining and polishing

Bobbin form: K125, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
