QuFe65 Rod – Laser Welding Wire ER312 / 1.4337 (29 9) for Dissimilar Joints

QuFe65 Rod – Laser Welding Wire ER312 / 1.4337 (29 9) for Dissimilar Joints

QuFe65 is the universal wire for difficult cases: ER312 / 1.4337 to EN ISO 14343-A W/G 29 9 — an austenitic-ferritic weld metal with roughly 29 % chromium and 9 % nickel. This composition produces a high ferrite content, which makes the seam exceptionally resistant to hot cracking. That is precisely why QuFe65 is chosen when steels have to be joined that do not actually go together.

What {code} is made for

  • Joints between dissimilar steels — including mixed unalloyed and high-alloy grades
  • Hard-to-weld steels where identical-type fillers crack
  • Buffer layers beneath hard deposits — among others under QuFe20 for multi-layer build-up
  • Cold- and hot-work tools (joints and buffering)

Typical applications

  • Dissimilar joints between unalloyed steel and stainless steel
  • Buffer layer beneath high wear-resistance deposits
  • Repairs on tools of unknown or mixed materials
  • Components under scaling load up to 1,150 °C
  • Joints on hard-to-weld, crack-prone steels

Properties and advantages

  • High hot-crack resistance thanks to the ferrite-rich 29/9 austenite — the actual reason for this wire
  • Scale-resistant to 1,150 °C, stainless (wet corrosion up to 300 °C)
  • Good toughness at high yield strength: Re 600 MPa · Rm 800 MPa · A 20 %
  • Tough joints between different steel alloys
  • Post-processing: work-hardening hot and cold, chrome-platable, polishable, machinable

Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual build-up welding with constant wire feed — also when laying buffer layers in hard-to-reach places.

Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
