QuFe14 Rod – Laser Welding Wire CrMo5Si / ER502 (1.7373) – Corrosion-Resistant up to 600 °C

QuFe14 is the alternative to QuFe13 whenever a lower carbon content and a higher chromium content are required: DIN EN ISO 21952-A G/W CrMo5Si · AWS A5.9 ER502 · ER80S-B6 · filler material no. 1.7373.

With only 0.06 % C and 5.3 % Cr the weld metal can be used up to 600 °C and is highly resistant to corrosive media — the trade-off is lower hardness (first layer up to approx. 43 HRC) and the fact that the weld metal is not hardenable. Suitable for build-up and joint welding.

  • 12 CrMo 19 5
  • Hot-work tools made of unalloyed and low-alloy steels

  • Build-up and joint welding on hot-work tools
  • Components with service temperatures up to 600 °C
  • Tools in contact with corrosive media
  • Repairs requiring a low carbon content

Properties and advantages

  • Usable up to 600 °C, high resistance to corrosive media
  • Reduced carbon content (0.06 %) with increased chromium (5.3 %)
  • Weld metal: Re 500 MPa · Rm 600 MPa · A > 18 % · 33–43 HRC
  • Temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable, CVD-coatable, polishable, machinable — but not hardenable

Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed for manual build-up and joint welding.

Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
