QuNi26 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Alloy 82 / ERNiCr-3 (2.4806) – Heat-Resistant, Cryogenic to −269 °C
QuNi26 is the all-rounder among nickel-base wires: EN ISO 18274 S Ni 6082 (NiCr20Mn3Nb) · AWS A5.14 ERNiCr-3 · filler material no. 2.4806 — known as Alloy 82.
Its microstructure is austenitic and non-transformable. That is the reason for its range: it is heat-resistant with high hot strength, at the same time cryogenically tough down to −269 °C, and it suits austenite-ferrite joints — exactly where two materials with different thermal expansion meet. Also proven as a buffer layer beneath a hard build-up.
Recommended base materials
- 2.4816 (Alloy 600 / UNS N06600), 2.4817, 2.4851 (UNS N06601)
- 1.4876 (Incoloy 800 / 800H / 800HT), 1.4958
- 1.6907, UNS N06075, UNS N10665
- Heat-resistant Cr and CrNi steels, nickel-base alloys
Typical applications
- Tough joints and build-ups on heat-resistant Cr and CrNi steels
- Austenite-ferrite joints (dissimilar welds)
- Cryogenic engineering — tough down to −269 °C
- Buffer layer beneath hard build-ups
Properties and advantages
- Heat-resistant with high hot strength, and at the same time cryogenically tough to −269 °C
- Non-transformable microstructure — no embrittlement from hardening
- Stainless, well suited to austenite-ferrite joints
- Weld metal: Rp0.2 420 MPa · Rm 660 MPa · A 40 %
Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed for repairs on furnace components and piping.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
