QuAlSi7 is a magnesium-alloyed aluminium filler metal to EN ISO 18273 S Al 4010/4018 (AlSi7Mg) · AWS SFA-5.10 ER4010/4018 · material no. ~3.2371. With roughly 7 % silicon and 0.5–0.8 % magnesium it is matched to AlSi7Mg casting alloys — the material most aluminium chassis and engine components are made from.
The magnesium content is the point: it makes the weld metal age-hardenable. If the component is heat-treated again after the repair, the seam gains strength along with it — unlike a plain AlSi filler without magnesium.

- Aluminium-silicon alloys with approx. 7 % Si
- AlSi7Mg casting alloys (e.g. A356 / G-AlSi7Mg)
- Joint and build-up welding
Typical applications
- Repairs to AlSi7Mg castings — chassis, engine, gearbox
- Filling cavities and defects in aluminium castings
- Contour corrections on moulds and prototypes
- Repairs that are subsequently age-hardened
