QuTitan5 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V / 3.7165)
QuTitan5 is a high-strength titanium laser welding wire of the alloy Ti-6Al-4V (material 3.7165, Grade 5). This alpha-beta alloy combines low weight with high strength (Rm ≈ 900–1,000 MPa) and excellent corrosion resistance — ideal for aerospace, medical technology and highly stressed lightweight components.
Recommended base materials
- 3.7165 — Ti-6Al-4V / Grade 5 (primary material)
- Ti-6Al-4V ELI / Grade 23 — implant grade (identical alloy, lower interstitials)
- 3.7035 — commercially pure titanium Grade 2 (related, for dissimilar joints)

Properties and advantages
- High strength-to-weight ratio — Rm ≈ 900–1,000 MPa

- Shielding gas: high-purity argon 4.6+ with trailing and root protection — titanium reacts strongly with oxygen and nitrogen above ~400 °C
Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual build-up welding with constant wire feed — also for repair sites that are hard to access on high-strength titanium components.
Rod form: Rod lengths 333 mm, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
