QuFe54 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Stainless 1.4316 / ER308LSi – Standard for 18/8 CrNi
QuFe54 is the standard austenite for 18/8 CrNi steels: 1.4316 · ER308LSi (19 9 L Si). If a part is made of 1.4301, 1.4306 or 1.4311, this is the wire for it.
Low carbon (the “L”) — so no chromium carbide precipitates at the grain boundaries and the weld metal stays resistant to intergranular corrosion, without solution annealing. The silicon makes the pool more fluid and the bead flatter. Tough down to −196 °C.
Recommended base materials
- 1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4311 — the classic 18/8 CrNi(N) steels
- 1.4319, 1.4541, 1.4550, 1.4551, 1.4552 — stabilised variants
- Cryogenic austenitic CrNi steels and cast steel
Typical applications
- Repairs and joints on 1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4311
- Apparatus, vessel and piping construction
- Food and beverage industry
- Cryogenic applications down to −196 °C
Properties and advantages
- Resistant to intercrystalline corrosion thanks to low carbon content (C 0.02 %)
- Cryogenic to −196 °C, stainless
- Raised Si content for better seam flow and clean seam edges
- Weld metal: Re 315 MPa · Rm 540 MPa · A 35 %
Bobbin form: K125, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
