QuCu88 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Pure Copper / 2.1006 (SG-CuSn) – for SE-Cu, SF-Cu, OF-Cu
QuCu88 is the wire for pure copper: DIN EN ISO 24373 S Cu 1898 · DIN 1733 SG-CuSn · AWS A5.7 ~ERCu · material no. 2.1006.
It matches the pure copper grades SE-Cu (2.0070), SW-Cu (2.0076), SF-Cu (2.0090) and OF-Cu (2.0040) — wherever the electrical and thermal conductivity of copper has to be preserved. The datasheet explicitly calls the weld metal viscous: copper conducts heat away so quickly that the weld pool hardly flows by itself — it has to be guided.
Recommended base materials
- SE-Cu (2.0070)
- SW-Cu (2.0076)
- SF-Cu (2.0090)
- OF-Cu (2.0040) — oxygen-free copper
Typical applications
- Build-up and repair welding on pure copper
- Joint welding of copper components
- Components where conductivity must be preserved
- Electrical engineering, heat exchangers, copper piping
Properties and advantages
- Matching SE-, SW-, SF- and OF-Cu
- Viscous weld metal — controlled bead placement
- 60 HB, Re 100 MPa · Rm 220 MPa · A 30 %
- Preserves the conductivity of the copper
Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed for manual copper welding.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
