QuAlMgZr Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Aluminium AlMg4.5MnZr / ER5087 (3.3546)
QuAlMgZr is the zirconium-alloyed aluminium filler metal to EN ISO 18273 S Al 5087 (AlMg4.5MnZr) · AWS SFA-5.10 ER5087 · material no. 3.3546. Chemically it is very close to AlMg4.5Mn — with one decisive addition: 0.15 % zirconium.
The zirconium suppresses the tendency to hot cracking. It acts as a grain refiner, the microstructure solidifies more finely, and the seam does not tear where an ordinary AlMg wire reaches its limit: on thick-walled components, under high restraint, and in multi-layer welds. Added to this is good resistance to sea water and weathering.
