QuMed4122 Rod – Laser Welding Wire 1.4122 / ER430 mod. – 17 % Cr, 47–52 HRC

QuMed4122 is the identical-type filler for 1.4122 and other stainless 17 % chromium steels: EN ISO 14343-A G/W Z 17MoH · AWS A5.9 ER430 mod. · material no. 1.4122. At 0.40 % carbon it sits well above the related QuMed4115 — and that is exactly where the higher hardness of 47–52 HRC comes from.

The classic application is sealing faces of gas, water and steam fittings: there the deposit has to be hard enough to seal permanently and stay corrosion-resistant at the same time. Service temperature up to 450 °C.

  • 1.4122 — identical-type
  • Other identical-type 17 % chromium steels and cast steel grades
  • Sealing faces on unalloyed steels (build-up)

  • Sealing faces of gas, water and steam fittings
  • Joint and build-up welding on stainless Cr steels
  • Components up to 450 °C service temperature
  • Repairs on 1.4122 components

Properties and advantages

  • 47–52 HRC — the hardest deposit of the QuMed range
  • Identical-type to 1.4122 — same behaviour in heat treatment and finishing
  • Stainless, for sealing faces in contact with media
  • Weld metal after heat treatment (760 °C / 2 h): Re 550 MPa · Rm 750 MPa · A 12 %

Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual build-up welding with constant wire feed — also on sealing edges that are hard to access.

Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
