QuLPA-AlSi10Mg Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Aluminium AlSi10Mg / 3.2823 – Spherical, T6-Treatable

QuLPA-AlSi10Mg Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Aluminium AlSi10Mg / 3.2823 – Spherical, T6-Treatable

QuLPA-AlSi10Mg is the aluminium cladding powder: AlSi10Mg · material no. ~3.2823.

Silicon (9–11 %) makes the powder readily weldable, magnesium (0.2–0.45 %) makes it age-hardenable — per the datasheet a heat treatment following the T6 cycle is applicable. That is the point: the deposit can be brought up to strength afterwards (Rm 400 MPa · Rp0.2 230 MPa · A 7 %). The grain is spherical (−45 +15 µm) and therefore free-flowing — the precondition for even powder feeding.

Recommended base materials

  • Build-ups and welds on aluminium alloys with approx. 10 % Si
  • AlSi10Mg die castings

Typical applications

  • Repair of AlSi10Mg castings
  • Parts subsequently T6 heat treated
  • Laser metal deposition (LMD) on aluminium

Properties and advantages

  • T6 heat treatment applicable — strength can be set afterwards
  • Rp0.2 230 MPa · Rm 400 MPa · A 7 %
  • Spherical grain shape — even powder feeding
  • Grain size −45 +15 µm

QuLPA-Fe13 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Tool Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344 – 42 HRC, Wear Resistant

QuLPA-Fe13 is the laser cladding powder for highly wear-resistant build-ups on tools exposed to heavy abrasion and pressure with moderate impact loading and elevated operating temperatures — per the datasheet typically slide faces, guideways and sealing edges. It is a wear layer, not a matching repair material: it is deposited on the hot-work and plastic mould steels 1.2343 / 1.2344 / 1.2311 / 1.2312 / 1.2083 and similar. QuLPA-Fe20 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Hardfacing 51–55 HRC – Abrasion Resistant, also GFRP

QuLPA-Fe20 is the hard grade among quada's cladding powders: 51–55 HRC as deposited, against approx. 42 HRC for QuLPA-Fe13. Same field of use — slide faces, guideways, sealing edges — but for higher abrasion. The point the datasheet singles out: good abrasion behaviour with glass-fibre reinforced plastics. That is exactly where moulds wear fastest, because the glass fibres act like abrasive. Higher chromium and vanadium (5.2 % Cr, 0.9 % V) carry the hardness.Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367 — hot-work tool steels1.2311, 1.2312 — plastic mould steels1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2606, 1.28421.2764, 1.2767Typical applicationsMoulds for glass-fibre reinforced plasticsSlide faces, guideways, sealing edgesTools with heavy abrasion at elevated operating temperatureArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantages51–55 HRC as depositedGood abrasion behaviour with GFRP per the datasheetPolishable, temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable and CVD-coatableGrain size 53–150 µmPowder form: grain size 53 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD). QuLPA-Fe20 60/40 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Hardfacing – approx. 51 HRC

QuLPA-Fe20 60/40 is the lower-alloyed variant of QuLPA-Fe20. Field of use and post-processing are identical — slide faces, guideways, sealing edges, good abrasion behaviour with glass-fibre reinforced plastics. The difference is in the analysis: 3.5 % Cr instead of 5.2 %, 0.23 % C instead of 0.32 %. The result is a slightly lower hardness of approx. 51 HRC (49–53 HRC as deposited) at a finer grain size (45–150 µm instead of 53–150 µm). Where full hardness is required, QuLPA-Fe20 (51–55 HRC) is the choice.Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367 — hot-work tool steels1.2311, 1.2312 — plastic mould steels1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2606, 1.28421.2764, 1.2767Typical applicationsSlide faces, guideways, sealing edgesMoulds for glass-fibre reinforced plasticsFiner deposit geometries thanks to 45–150 µm grainArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantagesApprox. 51 HRC (49–53 HRC as deposited)Finer grain size 45–150 µmPolishable, temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable and CVD-coatableGood abrasion behaviour with GFRPPowder form: grain size 45 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD). QuLPA-Fe44 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Stainless 1.4404 / 316L (ER316L) – Austenitic, Corrosion Resistant

QuLPA-Fe44 is the stainless cladding powder of the range: ~AWS A5.9 ER316L — an austenitic CrNiMo steel (Cr 17 % · Ni 12 % · Mo 2.5 % · C 0.03 %).It is the matching build-up material for the common austenitic stainless steels 1.4404 (316L), 1.4571 (316Ti), 1.4541 (321) and 1.4301 (304). The low carbon content (0.03 %) keeps the deposit resistant to intergranular corrosion. It is deliberately not a wear powder: at 180 HB the deposit is soft and tough — it restores geometry and corrosion resistance, not hardness.Recommended base materials1.4404 — X2CrNiMo17-12-2 / AISI 316L1.4571 — X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 / AISI 316Ti1.4541 — X6CrNiTi18-10 / AISI 3211.4301 — X5CrNi18-10 / AISI 304Similar CrNi/Mo steelsTypical applicationsRepair and dimensional build-up on stainless componentsChemical, food and plant engineeringCorrosion protection layers on steelArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantagesLow carbon (C 0.03 %) — resistant to intergranular corrosionMo-alloyed (2.5 %) — pitting resistance180 HB — tough deposit, not a wear layerGood polishing and machining. QuLPA-Fe60 Powder Laser Cladding Powder High-Speed Steel 1.3343 / M7 – 58–63 HRC, Cutting Tools

QuLPA-Fe60 is the high-speed steel powder and, at 58–63 HRC, the hardest cladding powder in the quada range: ~DIN EN 14700 S Fe 4 · DIN 8555 MSG 4-60-S · ~AISI M7 · material no. ~1.3343.It is intended for the manufacture and repair of cutting tools — drills, milling cutters, broaches, turning tools — and for hardfacing wear-prone tool edges. The hardness comes from the high carbide content (W 6.2 % · Mo 5.0 % · V 2.0 % · C 1.0 %). The datasheet highlights that even on very critical steels the first layer stays crack-free — preheating is still recommended.Recommended base materials1.3343 — high-speed steel1.3316, 1.3333, 1.3346Per the datasheet particularly suited to this groupTypical applicationsDrills, milling cutters, broaches, turning toolsHardfacing of wear-prone tool edgesManufacture and repair of cutting toolsArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantages58–63 HRC — the hardest cladding powder in the rangeFirst layer stays crack-free even on critical steels (datasheet)High carbide content: W 6.2 % · Mo 5.0 % · V 2.0 %Preheating recommended.
