QuFe18 Bobbin Laser Welding Wire 13 % Cr Steel / ER410 – Valves, Shafts, Pumps

QuFe18 is the martensitic 13 % Cr wire for general mechanical and plant engineering: AWS ER410 · ~1.4009.It is a hardenable material — it hardens as it cools. That is the decisive difference from the austenitic stainless wires: here you preheat and cool slowly rather than keeping things cold. In return you get a deposit that polishes and machines well and can afterwards be tempered to service hardness — the classic combination for valves, shafts, pump parts and sealing faces.Recommended base materials1.4000, 1.4006, 1.4008 — martensitic 13 % Cr steelsAISI 410, AISI 420 — the corresponding US gradesBuild-ups on 1.2083 and 1.2085Build-ups on unalloyed and low-alloy steels up to 450 °CTypical applicationsValves and sealing facesShafts and bearing seatsPump and turbine componentsRepairs on martensitic Cr steels in mechanical engineeringProperties and advantagesReadily polishable and machinable — the repair can be finished cleanlyCorrosion-resistant in water, gas and steamHardness as welded 150–225 HBWeld metal: Re 380 MPa · Rm 550 MPa · A 15 %Bobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm. QuLPA-Fe13 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Tool Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344 – 42 HRC, Wear Resistant

QuLPA-Fe13 is the laser cladding powder for highly wear-resistant build-ups on tools exposed to heavy abrasion and pressure with moderate impact loading and elevated operating temperatures — per the datasheet typically slide faces, guideways and sealing edges. It is a wear layer, not a matching repair material: it is deposited on the hot-work and plastic mould steels 1.2343 / 1.2344 / 1.2311 / 1.2312 / 1.2083 and similar. Approx. 42 HRC (40–44 HRC as deposited). Where more hardness is needed, QuLPA-Fe20 (51–55 HRC) is the next step.Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367 — hot-work tool steels1.2311, 1.2312 — plastic mould steels1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2606, 1.28421.2764, 1.2767Typical applicationsSlide faces and guidewaysSealing edgesTools subject to abrasion and pressure at elevated temperatureArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantagesApprox. 42 HRC (40–44 HRC as deposited)Very good polishing, tempering, nitriding, chrome plating behaviourCVD-coatable and machinableGrain size 45–150 µmPowder form: grain size 45 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD). QuLPA-Fe20 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Hardfacing 51–55 HRC – Abrasion Resistant, also GFRP

QuLPA-Fe20 is the hard grade among quada's cladding powders: 51–55 HRC as deposited, against approx. 42 HRC for QuLPA-Fe13. Same field of use — slide faces, guideways, sealing edges — but for higher abrasion. The point the datasheet singles out: good abrasion behaviour with glass-fibre reinforced plastics. That is exactly where moulds wear fastest, because the glass fibres act like abrasive. Higher chromium and vanadium (5.2 % Cr, 0.9 % V) carry the hardness.Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367 — hot-work tool steels1.2311, 1.2312 — plastic mould steels1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2606, 1.28421.2764, 1.2767Typical applicationsMoulds for glass-fibre reinforced plasticsSlide faces, guideways, sealing edgesTools with heavy abrasion at elevated operating temperatureArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantages51–55 HRC as depositedGood abrasion behaviour with GFRP per the datasheetPolishable, temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable and CVD-coatableGrain size 53–150 µmPowder form: grain size 53 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD). QuLPA-Fe20 60/40 Powder Laser Cladding Powder Hardfacing – approx. 51 HRC

QuLPA-Fe20 60/40 is the lower-alloyed variant of QuLPA-Fe20. Field of use and post-processing are identical — slide faces, guideways, sealing edges, good abrasion behaviour with glass-fibre reinforced plastics. The difference is in the analysis: 3.5 % Cr instead of 5.2 %, 0.23 % C instead of 0.32 %. The result is a slightly lower hardness of approx. 51 HRC (49–53 HRC as deposited) at a finer grain size (45–150 µm instead of 53–150 µm). Where full hardness is required, QuLPA-Fe20 (51–55 HRC) is the choice.Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367 — hot-work tool steels1.2311, 1.2312 — plastic mould steels1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2606, 1.28421.2764, 1.2767Typical applicationsSlide faces, guideways, sealing edgesMoulds for glass-fibre reinforced plasticsFiner deposit geometries thanks to 45–150 µm grainArea cladding by laser metal deposition (LMD)Properties and advantagesApprox. 51 HRC (49–53 HRC as deposited)Finer grain size 45–150 µmPolishable, temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable and CVD-coatableGood abrasion behaviour with GFRPPowder form: grain size 45 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD).
