QuCu87 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Copper-Nickel CuNi30 / 2.0837 (ERCuNi) – Offshore, Sea Water
QuCu87 is the copper-nickel wire: EN ISO 24373 S/G Cu 7158 (CuNi30) · AWS A5.7 ERCuNi · material no. 2.0837. With 30 % nickel it matches CuNi30Fe (2.0882) and CuNi20Fe (2.0878).
CuNi alloys are the standard material for sea-water piping — in offshore engineering, shipbuilding and desalination plants. The wire is sea-water resistant and highly corrosion resistant, designed for heavily loaded joint welds, not just build-ups.
Recommended base materials
- CuNi30Fe (2.0882)
- CuNi20Fe (2.0878)
- Copper-nickel alloys with up to 30 % nickel
Typical applications
- Offshore engineering
- Desalination plants
- Shipbuilding — sea-water piping
- Chemical plant construction
Properties and advantages
- Sea-water and highly corrosion resistant
- For heavily loaded joint welds
- 115 HB, Rp0.2 210 MPa · Rm 380 MPa · A 30 %
- Titanium-stabilised (Ti 0.50 %) — suppresses porosity
Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed when repairing sea-water piping.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
