QuCu89 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Tin Bronze CuSn6 / ERCuSn-A (2.1022) – Plain Bearings, 90 HB
QuCu89 is the plain-bearing tin bronze: DIN EN ISO 24373 S Cu 5180 · DIN 1733 SG-CuSn6P · AWS A5.7 ~ERCuSn-A · material no. 2.1022. With 6 % tin it is softer than QuCu85 (90 HB) but considerably tougher (A 25 %).
Its hallmark according to the datasheet is its good sliding properties — which makes it the choice for bearing surfaces and bushes. And it does more than matching work: it joins copper-tin and copper-zinc alloys to cast iron, steels and nickel materials — a dissimilar-joint wire, not just a repair wire.
Recommended base materials
- Copper-tin alloys, e.g. bronze with up to 8 % Sn
- Copper-zinc alloys
- Copper-tin-zinc-lead casting alloys
- Joints between these alloys and cast iron, steel and nickel materials
Typical applications
- Plain bearings and bearing bushes
- Repairs on bronze and brass components
- Dissimilar joints bronze to steel, cast iron or nickel
- Build-up welding on cast iron
Properties and advantages
- Good sliding properties — designed for bearing surfaces
- 90 HB, Re 150 MPa · Rm 300 MPa · A 25 %
- Also for dissimilar joints with cast iron, steel and nickel
- Phosphorus-deoxidised
Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed when building up bearing surfaces.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
