QuCu85 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Tin Bronze CuSn13 / 2.1056 – for Gunmetal Rg5 / Rg7, 120 HB
QuCu85 is the high-tin bronze: DIN EN ISO 24373 S Cu 5410 · DIN 1733 SG-CuSn13 · material no. 2.1056. With 12–13 % tin it is the stronger of quada's two tin bronzes (120 HB).
It matches bronze with 10–12 % Sn and the gunmetal grades Rg5 and Rg7 (copper-tin-zinc-lead casting alloys) used for fittings, pump housings and bearing bushes. Sea-water and corrosion resistant. For bronzes with less tin (up to 8 %) and for plain-bearing surfaces, QuCu89 (Sn 6 %) is the right choice.
Recommended base materials
- Copper-tin alloys, e.g. bronze with 10–12 % Sn
- Gunmetal Rg5 and Rg7 (copper-tin-zinc-lead casting alloys)
- Copper-zinc alloys
- Build-up welding on cast iron
Typical applications
- Fittings and pump housings made of gunmetal
- Bearing bushes and bronze castings
- Build-ups on cast iron
- Components exposed to sea water
Properties and advantages
- Sn 12–13 % — matching gunmetal and high-tin bronze
- 120 HB, Re 200 MPa · Rm 350 MPa · A 15 %
- Sea-water and corrosion resistant
- Phosphorus-deoxidised (P 0.15–0.25 %)
Rod form advantage: Constant wire feed when repairing fittings and cast housings.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,3 mm – 0,8 mm.
