QuMed4430 TIG Welding Wire – Stainless 1.4430 / ER316LSi (19 12 3 L Si)
QuMed4430 TIG Welding Wire – Stainless 1.4430 / ER316LSi (19 12 3 L Si)
QuMed4430 is the molybdenum-alloyed austenite: EN ISO 14343-A G/W 19 12 3 L Si · AWS SFA-5.9 ER316LSi (filler material no.: 1.4430). Compared with the 18/8 standard it adds 2.6 % molybdenum — and that shifts the corrosion resistance exactly where chromium alone is no longer enough: into chloride-bearing media.
Molybdenum inhibits pitting. That is why QuMed4430 is the wire for apparatus in the chemical and food industries. Service range −196 °C to 400 °C, low carbon (C 0.02 %) and therefore resistant to intercrystalline corrosion.
Recommended base materials
- 1.4401, 1.4404 — the CrNiMo standard steels (316 / 316L)
- 1.4571 — titanium-stabilised (316Ti)
- 1.4580, 1.4583 — niobium-stabilised variants
Typical applications
- Apparatus and components in the chemical industry
- Food industry — vessels, lines, fittings
- Textile and fuel industries
- Corrosion-resistant build-up welding
- Joints on stainless and heat-resistant steels
Properties and advantages
- 2.6 % molybdenum — considerably higher pitting resistance than the 18/8 standard
- Low carbon (C 0.02 %) and therefore resistant to IC
- Service range −196 °C to 400 °C
- Weld metal: Re 430 MPa · Rm 650 MPa · A 32 %
TIG advantage: For larger repairs away from the laser — Ø 1.0 mm, considerably higher deposition per layer.
TIG form: for manual repair welding.
