QuFe50 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Stainless 1.4576 / ER318Si – Chemical and Plant Engineering

QuFe50 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Stainless 1.4576 / ER318Si – Chemical and Plant Engineering

QuFe50 is the niobium-stabilised CrNiMo austenite for chemical and plant engineering: 1.4576 · ER318Si (19 12 3 Nb Si).

The niobium ties up the carbon and thereby makes the weld metal resistant to intergranular corrosion — even without solution annealing after welding. Together with the molybdenum this gives the combination that vessels, piping and apparatus in chloride-bearing media need. Service range −120 to +400 °C.

Recommended base materials

  • 1.4401, 1.4404 — X5/X2CrNiMo17-12-2 / AISI 316, 316L
  • 1.4435, 1.4436 — CrNiMo austenites with increased Mo content
  • 1.4571, 1.4573 — Ti-stabilized CrNiMo steels (316Ti)
  • 1.4580, 1.4581, 1.4583 — Nb-stabilized CrNiMo steels and cast grades

Typical applications

  • Chemical plant construction — vessels, piping
  • Components in chloride-bearing media
  • Plants without solution annealing after welding
  • Repairs on Nb-stabilised CrNiMo steels

Advantages of 1.4576 / ER318Si

  • Niobium stabilization prevents intergranular corrosion at weld seams
  • Molybdenum (3.0 %) increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
  • Service range −120 °C to +400 °C
  • Weld metal: yield 450 MPa, tensile 640 MPa, elongation 30 %

Bobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
