QuNi76 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Hastelloy C276 / 2.4819 (Alloy C-276 / UNS N10276)

QuNi76 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Hastelloy C276 / 2.4819 (Alloy C-276 / UNS N10276)

QuNi76 is a highly corrosion-resistant laser welding wire of the nickel-base alloy Hastelloy C276 (base material 2.4819 / NiMo16Cr15W, Alloy C-276, UNS N10276). As a filler metal it corresponds to 2.4886 (DIN EN ISO 18274 S Ni 6276, AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-4). Its high molybdenum content of 16 % makes it resistant to a wide range of corrosion in oxidising and reducing media alike — particularly against acids.

Recommended base materials

  • 2.4819 — Hastelloy C276 / NiMo16Cr15W / Alloy C-276 / UNS N10276 (primary material)
  • Ni-Mo-Cr-W alloys (similar and related)
  • Joints with unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steel as well as cast steel

Typical applications

  • Chemical process industry — acids, oxidising and reducing media
  • Dissimilar nickel-steel joints — joining welds with unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steel/cast steel
  • Buffer layers ahead of dissimilar build-up welds
  • Plant, apparatus and vessel construction
  • Environmental engineering and flue-gas cleaning

Properties and advantages

  • Resistant in oxidising and reducing media alike
  • Good resistance to acids (16 % molybdenum content)
  • High resistance to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking
  • Proven for dissimilar joints between nickel alloy and steel
  • Mechanical properties (pure weld metal, 20 °C): Re 470 MPa | Rm 780 MPa | A 35 %

Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual repair and joining welds with constant wire feed — also for hard-to-reach areas in chemical and apparatus components. Available in 333 mm and 1,000 mm, special lengths on request.

Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,4 mm – 0,6 mm.

QuFe11 Rod Laser Welding Wire Hot-Work Steel 1.2367 / 1.2343 – 38–42 HRC (S Fe 13)

QuFe11 is a build-up wire for hot-work tools: DIN EN 14700 S Fe 13, filler material no. 1.2367. The weld metal reaches 38–42 HRC and combines hot-wear resistance with toughness. That combination is the whole point of this wire: components exposed at elevated temperature to impact, pressure and abrasion at the same time need weld metal that is not merely hard but also yields without cracking. For a harder, more temper-resistant build-up, use its sibling QuFe12 (42–48 HRC).Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344 (X38CrMoV5-1 / X40CrMoV5-1)1.2367 (X38CrMoV5-3)1.26061.2764 – 1.2767Typical applicationsForging diesDie-casting moulds and plastic mouldsGuides and containers (extrusion)Continuous casting rollsProperties and advantages38–42 HRC — depending on machining and number of layersHot-wear resistant and tough — for impact, pressure and abrasion at elevated temperatureWeld metal can be hardened and tempered, nitrided, chrome-plated, CVD-coatedPolishable and machinableRod form advantage: Constant wire feed for manual build-up welding, also on hard-to-reach contours inside the die.Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm. QuFe12 Rod Laser Welding Wire Hot-Work Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344 – 42–48 HRC, temper-resistant

QuFe12 is the hard, temper-resistant build-up wire for hot-work tools: EN 14700 S Fe 3 · DIN 8555 M/WSG3-Gz-45-T, filler material no. 1.2567. The weld metal reaches 42–48 HRC.The 4 % tungsten content is the defining feature: it gives the weld metal excellent temper resistance — the hardness survives when the tool heats up again in service. The microstructure of the un-annealed weld metal is martensitic with retained austenite and carbides.
