QuFe23 TIG Welding Wire – Hardfacing Hot-Work Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344, 53–58 HRC
QuFe23 TIG Welding Wire – Hardfacing Hot-Work Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344, 53–58 HRC
QuFe23 is the wear protection for hot-work tools: DIN EN 14700 S Fe 3 · DIN 8555 MSG 3-55 T · filler material no. 1.2343. The weld metal reaches 53–58 HRC and is designed for service temperatures up to 550 °C.
The difference from a matching repair wire such as QuFe13: the point here is not to restore the base material but to apply a harder wear layer than the base material itself has. For multi-layer build-ups the datasheet explicitly calls for a buffer layer of QuFe65 or QuNi26 — without it the hard layer cracks.
Recommended base materials
- 1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2367, 1.2606
- 1.2311, 1.2312, 1.2358
- 1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2842
- 1.2764 – 1.2767
- For multi-layer build-ups, buffer with QuFe65 or QuNi26
Typical applications
- Hot shear blades
- Dies
- Die-casting moulds
- Wear-resistant build-ups on hot-work tools up to 550 °C
Properties and advantages
- 53–58 HRC — depending on machining and welding layer
- Wear-resistant at service temperatures up to 550 °C
- Weld metal highly polishable, temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable, CVD-coatable
- Machinable — reworkable despite the high hardness
TIG advantage: For area hardfacing and larger build-up surfaces. Ø 1.0–3.2 mm.
TIG form: for manual repair welding.
