QuLPA-Ni42 Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Nickel Base (NiCrBSi) – 42 HRC, Oil, Gas and Mining Industry
QuLPA-Ni42 Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Nickel Base (NiCrBSi) – 42 HRC, Oil, Gas and Mining Industry
QuLPA-Ni42 is the self-fluxing nickel-base cladding powder of the NiCrBSi type for medium-hard, matching build-ups on nickel-base materials — also suitable for joining.
Boron (1.65 %) and silicon (3.4 %) lower the melting point and act as a flux: the powder is self-fluxing, wets cleanly and bonds well. Chromium (7.5 %) forms the wear- and corrosion-resistant hard phases. At 42 HRC the deposit sits in the medium hardness range — tough enough for parts that see both wear and corrosion, and still grindable. The harder sister grade is QuLPA-Ni52 (52 HRC). Grain size 45–150 µm.
Recommended base materials
- Nickel-base materials (matching build-up)
- components of the oil, gas and mining industry
- also suitable for joining
Typical applications
- wear and corrosion protection on oil, gas and mining components
- matching repair on nickel-base steels
- laser metal deposition (LMD) of medium-hard functional surfaces
Properties and advantages
- Self-fluxing (NiCrBSi) — clean wetting, good bonding
- 42 HRC — wear and corrosion protection, still grindable
- also usable for joining
- grain size 45–150 µm
Powder form: grain size 45 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD).
