QuLPA-Stell12 Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Cobalt Base – Matching Stellite 12, 44 HRC

QuLPA-Stell12 Powder – Laser Cladding Powder Cobalt Base – Matching Stellite 12, 44 HRC

QuLPA-Stell12 is the cobalt-base cladding powder (CoCrW), matching Stellite 12 — the harder variant of the universal Stellite 6.

Compared with QuLPA-Stell6 (41 HRC), carbon (1.4 %) and tungsten (8.0 %) are raised: more and harder carbides, hence 44 HRC and markedly more abrasive wear resistance — at somewhat lower toughness. The cobalt matrix holds its hardness when hot (hot hardness) and resists corrosion, cavitation and erosion. This is the choice when abrasion is the main load; for the tougher, more universal layer stay with Stellite 6. Grain size 45–150 µm.

Recommended base materials

  • universally applicable — steels, nickel and cobalt materials
  • parts with high abrasion under heat and corrosion

Typical applications

  • sealing faces and valve seats with high abrasion
  • extruder screws, hot-forming tools, guide surfaces
  • parts with high-temperature wear

Properties and advantages

  • 44 HRC — harder and more abrasion-resistant than Stellite 6
  • Hot hardness — hardness retained at high temperatures
  • higher C and W content (more carbides) than QuLPA-Stell6
  • grain size 45–150 µm

Powder form: grain size 45 - 150 µm — for laser metal deposition (LMD).
