QuNi76 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Hastelloy C276 / 2.4819 (Alloy C-276 / UNS N10276)

QuNi76 is a highly corrosion-resistant laser welding wire of the nickel-base alloy Hastelloy C276 (base material 2.4819 / NiMo16Cr15W, Alloy C-276, UNS N10276). As a filler metal it corresponds to 2.4886 (DIN EN ISO 18274 S Ni 6276, AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-4). Its high molybdenum content of 16 % makes it resistant to a wide range of corrosion in oxidising and reducing media alike — particularly against acids.

Recommended base materials

  • 2.4819 — Hastelloy C276 / NiMo16Cr15W / Alloy C-276 / UNS N10276 (primary material)
  • Ni-Mo-Cr-W alloys (similar and related)
  • Joints with unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steel as well as cast steel

  • Dissimilar nickel-steel joints — joining welds with unalloyed, low-alloy and high-alloy steel/cast steel
  • Buffer layers ahead of dissimilar build-up welds

  • Environmental engineering and flue-gas cleaning

Properties and advantages

  • Resistant in oxidising and reducing media alike
  • Good resistance to acids (16 % molybdenum content)
  • High resistance to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking
  • Proven for dissimilar joints between nickel alloy and steel
  • Mechanical properties (pure weld metal, 20 °C): Re 470 MPa | Rm 780 MPa | A 35 %

Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual repair and joining welds with constant wire feed — also for hard-to-reach areas in chemical and apparatus components. Available in 333 mm and 1,000 mm, special lengths on request.
