QuMed4115 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Hardfacing 17Mo / 1.4115 – 39–45 HRC
QuMed4115 is a martensitic 17 % Cr wire with molybdenum: EN ISO 14343-A G/W 17Mo · AWS A5.9 ~ER430 · material no. 1.4115. It is a hardfacing wire: the weld metal reaches 39–45 HRC straight from the welding process, without heat treatment.
It is explicitly designed for single-layer welds. The molybdenum content of 1.2 % keeps the wear resistance intact at elevated temperatures — that is the difference from a plain Cr hardfacing wire. Added to this is resistance to water, sea water, steam and dilute organic acids.
Recommended base materials
- 1.2085, 1.4057
- Similar martensitic base materials
- Hardfacing on unalloyed and low-alloy steels and cast steel
- Hardfacing on hot-work steels and high-alloy grades
Typical applications
- Wear-resistant hardfacing — designed for single-layer welds
- Components subject to wear at elevated temperature
- Components in contact with water, sea water or steam
- Build-ups on hot-work steels
Properties and advantages
- 39–45 HRC straight from the welding process — no heat treatment required
- Wear-resistant also at elevated temperatures (Mo 1.2 %), high hot strength
- Resistant to water, sea water, steam, dilute organic acids
- Weld metal: Re 490 MPa · Rm 690 MPa · A 15 %
Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual build-up welding with constant wire feed — also in hard-to-reach areas.
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,6 mm.
