QuFe66 Rod – Laser Welding Wire 17 % Cr Steel / ER430 (1.4015) – Corrosion Resistant, Polishable

QuFe66 Rod – Laser Welding Wire 17 % Cr Steel / ER430 (1.4015) – Corrosion Resistant, Polishable

QuFe66 is the 17 % Cr wire: EN ISO 14343-A G/W (17) · ~AWS ER430 · filler no. 1.4015.

It is intended for build-ups on structural parts in water, gas and steam atmospheres, i.e. wherever corrosion resistance is required alongside the repair. With only 0.08 % carbon it is considerably softer (175 HB) and more forgiving to process than the high-carbon 17 % Cr hardfacing wires — in return the deposit polishes and machines well. Usable on unalloyed and low-alloy steels up to 450 °C.

Recommended base materials

  • 1.4057, 1.4059
  • 1.4740, 1.4742
  • AISI 430
  • Build-ups on steels such as 1.2083, 1.2085

Typical applications

  • Structural parts in water, gas and steam atmospheres
  • Components requiring corrosion resistance
  • Polished functional surfaces
  • Build-ups on unalloyed/low-alloy steel up to 450 °C

Properties and advantages

  • 17.5 % chromium — corrosion resistant
  • Low carbon (C 0.08 %) — forgiving to weld
  • 175 HB, Re 300 MPa · Rm 450 MPa · A 15 %
  • Good polishing and machining

QuMed4115 Rod Laser Welding Wire Hardfacing 17Mo / 1.4115 – 39–45 HRC

QuMed4115 is a martensitic 17 % Cr wire with molybdenum: EN ISO 14343-A G/W 17Mo · AWS A5.9 ~ER430 · material no. 1.4115. It is a hardfacing wire: the weld metal reaches 39–45 HRC straight from the welding process, without heat treatment. It is explicitly designed for single-layer welds. The molybdenum content of 1.2 % keeps the wear resistance intact at elevated temperatures — that is the difference from a plain Cr hardfacing wire. QuFe11 Rod Laser Welding Wire Hot-Work Steel 1.2367 / 1.2343 – 38–42 HRC (S Fe 13)

QuFe11 is a build-up wire for hot-work tools: DIN EN 14700 S Fe 13, filler material no. 1.2367. The weld metal reaches 38–42 HRC and combines hot-wear resistance with toughness. That combination is the whole point of this wire: components exposed at elevated temperature to impact, pressure and abrasion at the same time need weld metal that is not merely hard but also yields without cracking. For a harder, more temper-resistant build-up, use its sibling QuFe12 (42–48 HRC).Recommended base materials1.2343, 1.2344 (X38CrMoV5-1 / X40CrMoV5-1)1.2367 (X38CrMoV5-3)1.26061.2764 – 1.2767Typical applicationsForging diesDie-casting moulds and plastic mouldsGuides and containers (extrusion)Continuous casting rollsProperties and advantages38–42 HRC — depending on machining and number of layersHot-wear resistant and tough — for impact, pressure and abrasion at elevated temperatureWeld metal can be hardened and tempered, nitrided, chrome-plated, CVD-coatedPolishable and machinableRod form advantage: Constant wire feed for manual build-up welding, also on hard-to-reach contours inside the die.Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm and 333 mm, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
