QuTitan2 Rod – Laser Welding Wire Titanium Grade 2 (CP-Ti / 3.7035)
QuTitan2 is a laser welding wire made of Grade 2 commercially pure titanium (material 3.7035). CP-Ti offers outstanding corrosion resistance in oxidising and chloride-bearing media, with high ductility and very good weldability — ideal for chemical apparatus construction, heat exchangers and marine technology.
Recommended base materials
- 3.7035 — commercially pure titanium Grade 2 (primary material)
- 3.7025 — commercially pure titanium Grade 1 (related, softer)
- 3.7055 — commercially pure titanium Grade 3 (related, stronger)
Typical applications
- Chemical apparatus and vessel construction
- Heat exchangers and condensers
- Seawater desalination and offshore technology
- Pickling, electroplating and electrolysis plants
- Repair and build-up welding on commercially pure titanium components
Properties and advantages
- Outstanding corrosion resistance in chlorides, seawater and oxidising acids
- High ductility — easily formable and weldable
- Low density, high specific strength, biocompatible
- Shielding gas: high-purity argon 4.6+ with trailing and root protection — gap-free contamination control is mandatory
Rod form advantage: Ideal for manual build-up welding with constant wire feed — also for repair sites that are hard to access on corrosion-resistant titanium apparatus and heat exchangers.
Rod form: Rod lengths 333 mm, Ø 0,4 mm – 0,8 mm.
