QuFe51 TIG Filler Wire Build-Up 1.8425 – Abrasion-Resistant, 50–53 HRC, Multi-Layer Safe
QuFe51 TIG Filler Wire Build-Up 1.8425 – Abrasion-Resistant, 50–53 HRC, Multi-Layer Safe
QuFe51 is an abrasion-resistant build-up wire: EN 14700 S Fe 2 · DIN 8555 MSG 2-GZ-500 · material no. 1.8425. The weld metal reaches 50–53 HRC.
Its distinguishing feature is stated in the datasheet: it is crack-safe even in multi-layer welding. With a weld metal containing 1.1 % carbon that is anything but a given — at this hardness the usual rule is one layer and no more. This makes it suitable for larger build-ups that restore worn components to size, not just for thin wear layers. Base materials are nitriding, case-hardening and quenched and tempered steels.
Recommended base materials
- Nitriding steels
- Case-hardening steels
- Low- and medium-alloy quenched and tempered steels
Typical applications
- Repairs and build-ups on worn components
- Multi-layer build-ups — restoring components to size
- Components subject to abrasive wear
- Build-ups that are subsequently nitrided or chrome-plated
Properties and advantages
- 50–53 HRC — depending on machining and number of layers
- Crack-safe even in multi-layer welding — despite C 1.1 %
- Abrasion-resistant weld metal
- Temperable, nitridable, chrome-platable
Rod form: Rod lengths 1000 mm, Ø 1,0 mm – 3,2 mm.
