QuFe44 Bobbin – Stainless Steel Laser Welding Wire 1.4404 / 316L (ER316L)

QuFe44 is a molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel laser welding wire for corrosion-resistant joining and build-up welding in the food, chemical and textile industries. The alloy conforms to EN ISO 14343-A G/W 19 12 3 l(Si) (AWS ER316L(Si), material no. 1.4430) and is suitable for all common 316-grade stainless steel base materials — from 1.4401 to 1.4583.

Recommended base materials

  • 1.4401 — X5CrNiMo17-12-2 / AISI 316
  • 1.4404 — X2CrNiMo17-12-2 / AISI 316L (primary material)
  • 1.4571 — X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 / AISI 316Ti (titanium-stabilized)
  • 1.4580 — X6CrNiMoNb17-12-2 / AISI 316Cb (niobium-stabilized)
  • 1.4583 — X10CrNiMoNb18-12 / AISI 318

Typical applications

  • Vessels and pipelines in the food and beverage industry
  • Apparatus construction for chemical and pharmaceutical industries
  • Textile and fuel industry components
  • Corrosion-resistant build-up welding on 316-grade stainless steels
  • Repair welding on similar stainless steels

Properties and advantages

  • Mo alloying increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
  • Very low carbon content (C 0.02 %) — prevents sensitization at weld seams
  • Good mechanical properties: Re 430 MPa · Rm 650 MPa · A 30 %
  • Shielding gas: Argon 4.6 or better — no mixed gas required
  • Norm-compliant: EN ISO 14343-A G/W 19 12 3 l(Si) · AWS ER316L(Si)
