QuFe12 Bobbin – Laser Welding Wire Hot-Work Steel 1.2343 / 1.2344 – 42–48 HRC, temper-resistant
QuFe12 is the hard, temper-resistant build-up wire for hot-work tools: EN 14700 S Fe 3 · DIN 8555 M/WSG3-Gz-45-T, filler material no. 1.2567. The weld metal reaches 42–48 HRC.
The 4 % tungsten content is the defining feature: it gives the weld metal excellent temper resistance — the hardness survives when the tool heats up again in service. The microstructure of the un-annealed weld metal is martensitic with retained austenite and carbides. For build-ups on hot-work tools made of unalloyed or low-alloy steels.
Recommended base materials
- 1.2343, 1.2344 (X38CrMoV5-1 / X40CrMoV5-1)
- 1.2367 (X38CrMoV5-3)
- 1.2606
- 1.2764 – 1.2767
- Hot-work tools made of unalloyed and low-alloy steels
Typical applications
- Build-up welding on hot-work tools
- Repairs on tools made of unalloyed and low-alloy steels
- Components requiring high wear resistance under heat
- Tools that return to temperature in service
Properties and advantages
- 42–48 HRC — depending on machining and number of layers
- Excellent temper resistance (W 4.0 %) — the hardness withstands service heat
- Hot-strength with high wear resistance
- Weld metal can be hardened and tempered, nitrided, chrome-plated, polished, machined
Bobbin form: K125, K250, K80, MA125, SH253 — wire weight 100 g–500 g, Ø 0,2 mm – 0,8 mm.
